Are you selling a product or service and not getting the sales that you’re looking for? Or are you looking for a simple hack that will give you massive results without breaking the bank? If you’ve ever taken a marketing course, you already know about the 4 P’s: (1) Product, (2) Place, (3) Price, and (4) Promotion. Today, were going to discuss the Promotion aspect and how this single most important trick will increase your sales with no cost to you. Let’s jump right in!
What is Artist Promotions?
If you’re an artist or an entrepreneur, you’ve probably heard or read about promoting yourself, but how do you promote yourself? And what’s the difference between promotion, marketing, and sales?
- Marketing - is the art and science of finding and acquiring new customers, fans, and buyers to ultimately purchase your products or services.
- Promotions - is a simple sales technique that will automatically inject urgency and scarcity into your offer. Tapping into the psychological triggers of human behavior will help you sell more.
- Sales - is the process of establishing and conducting transactions between a buyer and seller to to increase monetary resources.
Step-by-Step Artist Promotions Formula
Along with artist promotions, there are a few rules to follow that will give you huge returns. The reason this technique works is because it directly deals with human psychology.
Rule #1 - Your promotion must have a clear start date that your audience is aware of.
Rule #2 - Your promotion must have a clear end date that your audience is aware of.
Rule #3 - Don’t make your promotion too long. Shorter promotions perform better. Good rule of thumb is to keep your promotions between 1 - 7 days.
Rule #4 - Have something to promote.
Rule #5 - Keep your buyer aware of the amount of time left in your promotion.
If you follow these 5 rules, you will begin to see an increase in sales almost immediately.
Remember: When using this sales technique, you may begin to see sales trickle in, but the real bulk of your buyers will come near the end of your promotion because the urgency and scarcity of your promotion will kick in.
How To Execute Artist Promotions?
Let’s say I created a brand new beverage that I want to sell and get some feedback from. I might promote a “48-hour flash sale” to do this. Since this is a shorter promotion, I would announce the sale at the beginning of the promotion, and I would announce the sale when it’s starting to come to an end. The day it’s ending I might say, “48-Hour Flash Sale ending in 2 hours”. This is where the scarcity and urgency kicks in.
If you keep your buyer aware of your sale, and you have good products or services, the fear of missing out (FOMO) will push your buyer to buy and around the end of your promotion is when you will see a spike in sales.
When it comes to artist promotions, it’s more of a mind shift change than anything else. If you’re trying to make money online or in business, the best way is to understand human psychology. How do people buy? Why do people buy? And what can I do to make them buy from me?
